Tres Hombres Long Bar & Grill
“Working with Butte College SBDC has been one of the bright spots for me in 2020. Having never experienced anything like this before, I was unsure what needed to be done and when. SBDC’s Ronn Van Dusen was very helpful and very clear in his directions as to what information was needed to complete the loan applications correctly the first time. He made sure no mistakes were made and that the loan applications were submitted timely. As a result of the hard work by the entire staff at the Butte College SBDC and the SBA funding we received, Tres Hombres will live to come out the other side. Thank you!”

Challenge
Mr. Thomas requested assistance with accessing capital for his business that was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the California Governor’s “Stay-At-Home” mandate that continuously close the business, and limited business hours and access to customers, resulting in 60% loss in the business income in 2020.
Gameplan
Butte College SBDC consultant Ronn Van Dusen, assisted Mr Thomas with accessing capital through the SBA Disaster Program, including completing the application process and required documents, and providing assistance with pivoting the restaurant. Mr. Thomas also attended the SBDC “Strategies for Restaurants to Survive in 2020” webinar in June, and continues to work with the SBDC to access additional capital to sustain his business as the pandemic and “Stay-At-Home” Order remain in place.
Results
The business was approved for SBA Disaster Funds totaling $530,377.00 (EIDL/ $150,000 & PPP/$350,377), resulting in 72 Jobs Retained.
