Meet the Director

Welcome to the Butte College SBDC! I’m Sophie — the Center Director at the Butte College SBDC. I help connect all the dots – people and paperwork that help bring our SBDC to life. My favorite part of my job is knowing that I am part of a national organization that is committed to supporting people’s passions, dreams, and livelihoods with FREE, small business services that they may not otherwise be able to afford privately. 

At the Butte College SBDC, you have access to trainings, one-on-one advising, and assistance in accessing capital. No matter what stage your small business is in, whether it’s a concept or some phase of maturity, our experts work with entrepreneurs day in and day out – they see what’s working and what’s not and can offer you the perspective, clarity, and guidance you need.

We have a mission to assist small businesses to be productive and efficient entities that contribute to economic development and growth. We do this by offering free one-on-one business consulting in all areas of business start-up, development, management, growth, access to capital, and entrepreneurial trainings. 

In case you didn’t already know, SBDC expert advising is confidential and completely FREE to your business with no strings attached. Our services are provided by through a network of partners which includes funding support from federal and state relationships, and a vast number of local community partners as well.
